Volcano Creek Alberta

You can do this trail either direction but I think going up Wildhorse Trail with the Quirk Creek road bypass is the best. Once you reach the black shale canyon (left) you head onto Volcano Ridge and then Volcano Creek trails. These trails are old access roads and are still in good condition. There are some nice jumps in places made from water diversion channels.

After the Volcano Trails you hit Threepoint trail which is a singletrack trail which will be a tough ride when wet which I wouldn't recommend.. Even in a dry summer it will have wet spots. Watch out for cows on this trail too. Toward the end of Threepoint trail you hit a nice viewpoint (above) of Elbow Valley below. There is a nice and fun bit of technical downhill (right) before you cross the riverbed and finish on Big Elbow Trail.
