Aster Lake Kananaskis Alberta

Aster Lake is located on an un-maintained trail from the Upper Kananaskis Lake loop trail. It is generally visited by those hiking Northover Ridge and there is a backcountry campground located below it. The lake itself is the cloudiest lake I have fished due to glacial runoff with the water almost resembling chocolate milk. This makes the fishing very difficult. There are some cutthroat in Aster Lake that very lightly scoop small flies off the surface. They do not appear to be very large and I had no bites on spinners. I did however manage to get a bite when using a surface fly near shore but I didn't catch any. Based on the size of the surface disturbances and alpine setting I assume these fish are pretty small.
